In other words, they have created medical scrubs for men that is sure to not only make them look good in the workplace but also provide the comfort and wear ability that people expect from medical scrubs. Of course, men want to look good doing what they do best, right? This is why medical scrub designers took into consideration the various requests that came in regarding more variety when it comes to the design of male scrubs. Women’s medical scrubs can come in a variety of nice colors and even ones that have cool prints on them. A good example of this would be the design of an Austin based company that decided to make a slightly flared scrub bottom that sat snugly on the person’s hips. Such a design is really flattering and slimming. They also added two back pockets which created a much sleeker look in comparison to traditional scrubs as well as providing more space for the wearer to store stuff in. Another great addition is the ribbon tied waist which replaces the unflattering waistband. Besides, having the ribbon tied waist also provided allowance in the cases wherein the wearer lost or gained a bit of weight, they wouldn’t have to buy new scrubs and would simply have to adjust the waist through the ribbon. The new design for the top was a lot easier to do. Women wanted tapered tops instead of the boxy ones that came with traditional scrubs; designers also added a pocket on the upper left hand side of the top which provided them with another place to keep stuff in. Medical scrubs for men were just as easy to re-design. Men wanted tops that fit well and weren’t too loose. The length was also adjusted in order to give a cleaner and sleeker look. After all, who would want to see someone wearing “sloppy” looking scrubs? It would be very unprofessional and as such, medical scrubs for men were re-designed to give them a leaner and sleeker appearance.
The re-design of male scrubs, regardless of how easy it may have seemed or no matter how small the change is still took about a year to complete. But all that work was worth it because medical scrubs for men are now almost as varied as women’s. In terms of color, black, navy and grey were added which immediately created the distinction between the male and female versions of the garment. Another great addition is the use of the same wrinkle-resistant fabric that used to be available only for women’s medical scrubs.
